VERTEX SKILLS CAMP - BOVEC 2021 - FREEFLY AND ANGLE PROGRESSION

14TH - 20TH JULY 2021 - SKYDIVE BOVEC, SLOVENIA

For the first time we are exited to introduce to you the Vertex Skills Camp Bovec event! Thats right we are taking you out to the beautiful Soča valley in Slovenia for this incredible summer skills camp.

On this Camp you will be organised into a groups of 4 with similar progression goals and skill levels. You will jump for 4 days with the aim to complete 6 jumps per day with your group. The groups will rotate through different coaches each day giving you a wide range of coaching styles and experience. We will have pre-manifested loads on 2x Pilatus Porter giving us fast and efficient trips to altitude.
Vertex Skills camps are aimed at a wide range of experience levels from beginner freefly / tracking up to more advanced flyers. If you are unsure if this event is for you, please don't hesitate to contact us.

TWIN REGISTRATION (£500) + SHARED TWIN ROOM FOR 6 NIGHTS (€282 each) + 24 JUMP TICKETS (€660)

Flights and transport are not included in any of the registration options. You will need to organise this yourself or request the airport to DZ flight transfer at registration (very limited slots).

ACCOMMODATION

For accommodation we have selected the very nice Hotel Alp. It is located just 5 minutes walk from the dropzone. Both of our booking options for twin and single rooms come with breakfast included.

THE DROPZONE

The Drop Zone is located in the Bovec Basin between Bovec and the Soča River also called "The Emerald beauty" and surrounded by mountains reaching up to 8500ft/2600m.

Come and enjoy the stunning views of the alps and the Soča river from above.

TRAVEL

You will need to arrange your own flights and rental car or alternative transport to the dropzone.

From the UK there are relatively cheap flights going from Stansted to Ljubljana (Slovenia) on the 4th - 12th July. This is just under 2 hour drive from the dropzone and there are also bus transfers available that are very cheap but they take nearly 4 hours.

There are other airports nearby, some of which are in neighbouring countries. A list can be found on the Skydive Bovec website www.skydivebovec.com

AIRPORT FLIGHT TRANSFER

We are excited to offer an airport transfer in one of the dropzone Caravans that is fitted with seats for scenic flights around the valley. They will pick us up from Ljubljana airport on the 14th July and return us on the 20th July. These slots are extremely limited and the baggage limit per person is 27kg total. There is an option of one way and return. If you were to choose only one way then you would need to arrange a car share for return to the airport. Slots for this flight transfer are extremely limited are not guaranteed until you have been e-mail to confirm.

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

We are very open to all skill levels and jumpers from anywhere in the world. We would at a minimum expect you to be comfortable jumping in a group of 4 + coach for Freefly and Angle (Tracking). Before registering please make sure you are comfortable with both freefly and tracking.

For freefly we would expect you to be able to fly in a stable sit position for the whole jump and break off safely on your back at the end of the skydive. Breaking off on belly would not be suitable! If you are not sure if you meet the expected entry requirements then please get in touch.

ADVENTURE DAY - HELICOPTER JUMPS, INN HOPPS AND MOUNTAIN SWOOPING

For this event we have organised a very special adventure day to offer these excellent optional extras. On this day you can take part in a number of these extra activites, simply take the day off to relax or explore the mountain. Please note that those taking part in the mountain swooping will have less time available for helicopter jumping although subject to weather you should still be able to do all 3 activites. There will be no group coaches jumps on this day however there may be some of our coaches on hand for 1-1 or some walk up load organising if they are not taking part in the additional activities themselves.

Helicopter Jumps
The helicopter jumps will be from a AS350 B2. 5 skydivers per load. 6500ft AMSL at €45 per jump. 11500ft AMSL at €72 per jump. The helicopter must be full to send the lift so lifts will keep going as long as there is sufficient interest.

Inn Hopp
We plan to offer at least one Inn hopp at the end of the second day of coaching but we also plan to offer another Inn hopp at the end of our adventure day! Take a exciting jump into a random location throughout the valley where you will land in a off site landing area where you will be met by ground crew who will provide a buffet dinner and 1 drink included as part of the Inn Hopp. The dropzone will also provide a transfer back to the dropzone. These are priced at €55 per jump. Don't worry if you don't want to take part. The dropzone can drive you out to the landing area so you can join in with the food and drinks!

Mountain Swooping
We have arranged for the local mountain swooping expert Ernesto Gainza to provide this amazing activity on our adventure day. Mountain swooping is where you will be dropped over the mountains and take multiple guided canopy flights down the mountains by expert guides. This is an absolutely incredible experience we are very excited to be able to offer you as an extra on our event. The plan is for a 3 hour breifing to be done the day before where you will then have to do a practice flight over the dropzone in preperation for the next day. On the day you will start in the early morning and do 3 jumps, flying different lines down the mountains. There are limited slots for mountain swooping and also some entry requirements that must be met. If you are interested in doing this you must let us know on your registration form so we can organise this in advance. Please note that due to the fact wingloading needs to be somewhat balanced in groups there is no guarantee that you will be given a slot. However you will be notified in advance if you are able to fit into one of the two groups.

The price for Mountain swooping is €399 per person and it includes the 3hour training, 1 practice jump and 3 mountain swooping jumps.

Minimum requirements for Mountain Swooping
- Minimum 400 jumps.
- Minimum wingloading of 1.4
- Third party liability insurance.

HOW TO REGISTER

To register please scroll down to the registration form below. Please complete all questions. This will help us to organise you into appropriate skill level groups. Registration fee is required upon request. Once you have submitted your registration form we will e-mail out invoices to request payment for the deposit after atleast 2 months prior to the event. Once your registration form has been submitted you have secured your place subject to meeting minimum entry requirements. Once the invoice is issued you will have 2 weeks to pay it or you may lose your place. The registration fee of £500 and is nonrefundable if you are to cancel at any time exlcuding the following conditions relating to Covid-19.

Covid-19 cancellations

We are working as hard as we can to make sure this event can take place. Due to the constant changing situation we can not guarantee the event will go ahead but at the time of writing (12-02-2021) the situation across Europe is improving day by day due to the vaccination programme and local lockdowns so we are hopeful that we go away in July to Slovenia. If for someone reason we are unable to travel due to local restrictions (Slovenia or the UK) refunds will be issued minus £50 to cover some expenses that would have already been paid.

The hotel costs will need to be paid to the hotel directly at check-in on the day of arrival.

The jump tickets will need to be purchased on arrival from the dropzone. You will need to purchase a block of 24 jump tickets for €660. To make the event run efficiently with the aircraft you will be required to jump with your group at all times where the weather allows us.


Please note your space is not 100% reserved until the registration fee has been paid! Please do not book flights or rental car for yourself until this is completed!

We recommend that all Freefly / Tracking / Angle participants can freefly AND track safely in a group of 4. For British Skydiving members this means you would require FF1 and TR1 stickers to qualify. If you can't do one or the other then please get in touch before registering and we will advise if we have any groups that are suitable to accommodate you.
